German giant Siemens engineering has increased its support to the UK tidal energy market of the tides, after increasing its minority stake in Marine Current Turbines (MCT). MCT tidal technology developer confirmed today Siemens has raised its stake in the firm to 45 percent, compared with 10 percent was purchased in February 2010.

A tidal energy farm supplying green energy to London might become a reality if a 2 month trial proves flourishing. In the River Thames a turbine (tidal turbine) is being bedded next to World War II ship HQS Wellington in London. If the experiment proves flourishing and doesn’t badly affect the surroundings, hundreds of turbines might be bedded between London and Kent. Energy firm Nautricity whispered a tidal energy farm may generate sufficient electricity to light 35,000 homes.
